17 March – 24 September 2018
Following in the footsteps of Paris (France 1500, entre Moyen Age et Renaissance – 2010), Tours (Tours 1500. Capitale des arts – 2012) and Lyons (Arts et Humanisme, Lyon Renaissance – 2015), the Musée des Augustins is proud to present Toulouse Renaissance, a temporary exhibition which showcases a diverse collection of remarkable works, including not only paintings and sculptures, but also curios, furniture, illuminations, weapons, tapestries, stained-glass windows, manuscripts, drawings, gold-work…
Renaissance Toulouse was famous for its exceptional architecture and an influential humanist movement, both being the expression of an auspicious period often attributed to the region's economic success. The exhibition describes the Renaissance in Toulouse from approximately 1500 to the dawn of the seventeenth century.
L'exposition a obtenu le label "Année européenne du Patrimoine culturel 2018".
