James Pradier (1790-1852) who was Swiss, was considered one of the great artists of his time, capable of rivalling Antique sculpture.  His Chloris caressed by Zephyr (the wind in Greek mythology) moves away from the model of a modest Venus. He gave great sensuality to this young woman’s unfettered body, a symbol of the spring of life and of youth.
