Digital Library

Since the Musée des Augustins first opened in 1795, the curators have regularly drawn up catalogues listing all of the works in the collections. This rare, historical resource is regularly consulted by researchers and students. More recently, the publication of annotated catalogues of the museum's collections and of catalogues of new acquisitions has given us the opportunity to bring together and summarise knowledge of a series of works.

The Musée des Augustins Digital Library

In 2009 the Musée des Augustins decided to digitise all of these catalogues and to make them available on line.

Consultation of the pdfs is made easier by the option of searching the texts themselves (using OCR) with the name of an artist for example. This project has been carried out with the help of the Centre Interrégional de Conservation du Livre (Interregional Centre for Book Conservation - CICL) in Arles.
