The works acquisition policy of a museum must be applied in conformity with the January 4, 2002, law concerning the museums of France. The articles of this law applicable to museums are as follows: Article 2 The duty of the museums of France is to ever:
Article 10 Any acquisition of property that is to be added to the collections of a museum of France, whether against payment or free of charge, shall be subject to evaluation by scientific authorities, the composition of and procedures for which are established by decree. Article 11 I. I. The collections of the museums of France are not subject to statues of limitations.. II. II. The goods which constitute the collections of the museums of France belonging to a public corporation are part of their public domain and are, for this reason, inalienable. Article 12 The collections of the museums of France are to be registered in an inventory, and are to be inspected every ten years. |
