Distinctive Medieval Acquisitions

Beautiful medieval pieces from our region are rare on the art market and, as a general rule, are unattainable for us due to their very high prices. This means that donations and bequests are all the more important in this domain. Medieval sculpture remains the museum’s preferred sphere - the Musée des Augustins is world-renowned for the quality of its collections, and most of these collections come from the convents and churches of Toulouse and Southern France. This collection must not become static, but instead remain alive through the addition of new elements that can enhance our knowledge of art while bringing pleasure to the eyes and minds of our visitors.
