From 30th June to the 2nd October 2000, the musée des Augustins is presenting "Les Peintres du Roi, Reception works from the Royal Academy of painting and sculpture 1648 - 1793". The exhibition displays approximately five hundred rigorously selected paintings representing a wide cross-section of genres. Information on the historical background of the Académie is available on our website plus a perspective of approximately a hundred works spanning one and a half centuries. This exhibition is the result of a co-production with the city of Tours.
