Who is Jean-Pierre Changeux?
A professor at the Collège de France and the Institut Pasteur, Jean-Pierre Changeux is an internationally-acclaimed neurobiologist, regularly invited to speak at universities throughout the world. With his book L'Homme neuronal (Neuronal Man) he succeeded in reaching an audience that extended well beyond the scientific domain. As regards art history specifically, he has attracted the public's attention to a period that remained relatively unknown - French pre-classical art - with the exhibition From Niccolò dell'Abbate to Poussin. The sources of French classicism which was held in Meaux in 1988. He is also President of the Commission des Dations and vice-president of the Friends of the Louvre Society.
